Hugh has extensive investment experience totalling 17 years, most recently at Perennial Value Management where he was 2IC to the Managing Director. His previous roles were at Macquarie Bank and Platinum Asset Management in Sydney, and Orbis Investment Advisory Limited in London. Hugh joined Perennial when it was managing $60m and during his employment funds under management rose to over $11bn. Hugh was actively involved in portfolio management, analysis, staff recruitment and interacting with consultants, research houses and financial planners. He was responsible for selecting many of the firm’s successful core holdings and advising against value traps that proved to be poor performers. Prior to working Hugh gained relevant academic qualifications, in 1990 an M.Phil (Economics), from Cambridge University and prior to that a B.Com (Honours) in Economics and a BSc. Hugh has a fresh management style. He enjoys a balance in life succeeding at both work and play. He enjoys a game of golf and likes to keep fit, notably winning the Schwarzenegger award at Perennial. |
