Michael is a fully qualified Actuary with 4 years of financial services experience, and an enthusiasm for investing. His work experience includes statistical and behavioural analysis of Commonwealth Government schemes including the Higher Education Loan Program, valuation and management of long-term general insurance liabilities, including the HIH Claim Support Scheme and Run-Off Cover Scheme, analysis of premium rate increases by health insurers, and analysis of longevity risk and product innovation. Michael received an Honours degree in Actuarial Studies with a University Medal among a long list of prizes, and a Bachelors degree in Law from the ANU in 2004. His thesis work was supported by a Brian Gray scholarship funded jointly by APRA and RBA. Michael qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in August 2007, specialising in Investment Management and Finance, and topping the Part III Investments course.
Michael loves travelling, snowboarding and playing the saxophone. As the newest member of the team, he is keen to hit the ground running and contribute to the team’s processes and performance. With his numerous prizes and awards, he is as keen to dispel any notions of geekiness as he is to get rid of the ‘last in worst dressed’ tag. |
